My dad, 2nd Lt. Albert S Teed, flew with the "Ten Fighting Cocks", 720 squandron. This site is a great tribute to all of the soldiers. I know he would have been proud to see this. Thank you for preserving our past. We lost Dad to cancer in 1983.

I have proudly known Victor Bahr and his family for years. The most striking thing about the man is the devilish look he can get in those blue eyes. He has been an asset to our country as a pilot and as a private citizen. Thank God for men and women like him who have and still are serving proudly. Lila,Linda,Kathy,Jane I know you are proud. 12-2006

My dad, Victor Bahr, flew a B24 Bomber plane. He is listed on this web site. I believe he is the only one still living from his crew. There are pics available, and info on my dad. He never lost a crew member... Merry Christmas!

Thanks to the Host. After many visits here to the site, I finally found reference to my Uncle, 1st Lt. Martin D. Fredrickson on page 4 of the March 29, 1945 "Cottontales" as having been awarded the D.F.C. for a mission to the Apollo Oil Refineries at Bratislava, Czecoslovakia on 16 June, 1944. I know he was on the "Bottoms Up", but don't know for what missions, and whether he was on her for the Apollo mission, or on some other ship. Good luck to all the other searchers. Thanks, Paul

My father, Donald E. Close (now deceased) was a member of the 331st Service Squadron. I looked for his face in some of the pictures, but didn't see it. We have photos that are not included here, so if you wish, we could scan them and send them to be included in the photo gallery of the 331st. Thanks for putting up this site - a great service to all!

I tried to contact someone..but I could not maybe this will get to you..I post on the AAF.com site under my pen name Terry T...while researching 14th FG history on microfilm I ran across a poem made by I think one of your crewman.. While reviewing 14thFG history..I came across a poem..written by a member of the 405thBG in appreciation for the 1st, 14th & 82ndFG's protection ecorting the group, & was written after three recent raids on Germany. Early 1944 Commanders boast a pride and joy In every branch they employ; The Sailor, Soldier, and Marine Each prize a heavy weight, supreme. But amond the heavies we can say: "the Twenty-four is her to stay" It packs a punch, the target quivers It belches death, the JERRY shivers. Of all the Kings in all the Corps The Liberator leads the score; But there a sparkling Knight in court That tops the rest in fighting sport. He's lithe and bright and handsome fair, He's sharp and smart and debonair. He's a flash on the wing with a fightin' heart, of roya

I was honored to attend the 450th Group reunion dinner and dance with my father-in-law Johnnie Walters in Reno. My wife and I both enjoyed meeting members of the Group and spending time with such men of honor and their families. Unfortunately, I did not purchase a Squadron pin for a planned Christmas present for my father-in-law. If there are pins left, please contact me at (775) 287-9722 and I will forward payment and shipping costs to whoever may have them. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

I really enjoyed visiting the site (my first visit). My brother Thomas Begush was a 2nd Lt., flew on the Toni Gayle, I believe when he was shot down and imprisoned in Stalag Luft 3. I do have some pictures of part of his crew when they were stationed in California and visited a relative (Mark Harmon's mother (who was Elyse Harmon - married to Tom Harmon) However, they are in Connecticut and at this time we are in Florida inour winter home. Will try to send them to you when I return.

Great to be on the site. To any interested 720th parties, I had Harold Hilbert in my home this afternoon and I found this web site for him...needless to say, we were both very excited at having found this site. The pictures of his crew as well as his plane are great. If anyone would like to contact Mr Hilbert, contact me and I will put you in touch with him. Keep 'em flying "DR" Dennis Rankin

Mr. Worthington do you have any further information on John Kreisle or how he came by the two photos of the Fast Freight? Could he have been one of the Freight's replacement crew after the original crew rotated back to the States in early 1945 or a crew which happend to fly the Freight while their aircraft was being serviced? I'm just sorry Papa did'nt get to see them but the remaining two original mambers will relish these wonderful photos. I was looking at the discoloration of the forward bombay door. I recall Papa telling that the doors were damaged when they took flack damage over Ploesti and would not close, on arrival at the base the doors had to be sledge hammered to get them to shut again.
