My father is Edward "Fudd" Carlson. I logged onto this site today in search of some memories for his 80th birthday. He was a bombardier on "Miss Carriage" (crashed) and "Hard to Get". He stays in touch with his pilot John Jeff. If anyone out there knows Dad or flew with him, please contact me or him at PURPLEHAZE001@MSM.COM. I have enjoyed the visit to the website and thank you for giving me a chance to share in the memories of the 450th.

My father, John M. Flaherty was assigned with the 450th having transferred from the 8th Air Force in England. He arrived in Manduria in Oct. 1944. I do not think he was assigned to a particular crew but floated. If any one has any more information about what squadron he was with or anything else I would appreciate a line. John G. Flaherty

My father, Marvin E Stock, is gone now but visiting this website periodially and reading his memiors of WWII brings him back to life. He and I had talked about, looked at his photos and discussed the war on many occasions. I have always loved and respected my father dearly and admired his courage and dedication to preserving freedom for my Mother, me and the millions of other Americans by serving his country with thousands of fellow GI's. Not a day goes by that I don't think of my Dad and thank him for what he and others did back then to give me the peaceful life and rich lifestyle I have today. Sincerely, Ronald L. Stock, Ft. Sir, A very interesting site. I like the photo's of the planes. I have a question I hope that someone can answer. Did your group have different color bands that were painted around the airplane? The reason I ask is that I picked up a A2 flight jacket with a painting of a B24 with a yellow band and red prop spinners. I'm trying to find the group and squadron it came from. Your group is the only one that I found that has that type of marking. Any information would be of great help. If need be I can send an email with a photo of the back so that it can be viewed. I read what I can about the 15th and the 8th AF. I have a lot of unit histories where I get a lot of information from. I am very interested in the Air Force history of WW2. Thank you for your time. Best Regards, Bill
