Comments My grandfather was John T. Baughan. My mother has all of his pictures, medals and other memorabilia from his time with the 450th. I have his yearbooks from training. I would be more than happy to share thees with any interested individuals. I lost my grandfather in 2001 and would very much like to connect with anyone that may have known him. I miss my "Popsy" very much. Thank you.

Comments This is a wonderful website! I was searching today to see if I could find my brother's crew, but did not know anything about it, except he was a top-turret gunner and flight engineer on a B-24 in the 15th Air Force, stationed in North Africa. I traced the 15th Air Force to a website which contained an orginazation chart listing all Bomb Wings and aircraft used. I started with the 47th Bomb Wing because it was listed first. I eliminated the 449th BG and came upon your website. I found my brother listed as a crewmember as part of the Creighton R. Haupt Crew of the 722nd Squadron. I am delighted! My brother is Oliver Wendol Hill and is still living, at age 80, in Willow Park, Texas. (I noticed the spelling of his middle name is incorrect. It is listed as Wendell, but should be Wendol). Keep up the great work! I now can go back and look at his wartime efforts that he does not discuss. I will be checking this site quite often. Thank you!

Comments Ed McCabe, and for the past 60 years Dr. Ed McCabe was in the 450th Bomb Group and the 723rd Squadron. He is now 80 years old, but more than that has and always will be my mentor. At age 35 and now a father myself, I named my first born son after him last year and every week or so when I take Dr. McCabe to lunch I get him to tell me about his missions. A stroke four years ago robbed him of his short term memory, but WWII is still clear as bell. Well done to Dr. McCabe and the rest of the greatest generation. Godspeed to all those brave men, now in the winter of their lives.

Comments My name is MSgt Greg Henneman and I am the historian at Holloman AFB, New Mexico, known as Alamogordo Army Air Field to those of you who trained here before entering combat in World War II. Unfortunately, our archives of the World War II days are very sparse. Although this base has a special history, many records describe the location at the time as just another training base. In order to record the World War II history of Alamogordo Army Air Field, I’d like to request any stories, recollections, or photographs you may have from your time in New Mexico. These will be used in writing a World War II history of Alamogordo Army Air Field that I would be glad to share when completed this summer. Thank you for your help, MSgt Greg Henneman Holloman AFB Historian greg.henneman@holloman.af.mil
