I am the only brother of Robert A. Breneman, a crew member who survived the crash of Roundtrip Rosie. I consider it a miracle or the grace of God that my brother survived and that we are frequently together to this day. It is tragic that all of the crewmembers were not that fortunate.

My uncle Bob (S/Sgt Robert A. Breneman) was the top turret gunner on "Round Trip Rosie" of the 723rd Squadron. They were shot down over Grunau, Austria on their 13th mission. Only three of the crew were able to get out, and Uncle Bob was captured by the locals and turned over to the Germans. He has written his story (after many years and after visiting Grunau). I hope we can get it posted to this site. I think it's wonderful that all of the brave men of the 450th are immortalized by this site.

My father, Sgt. Joseph P. Brischler was in the 450th BG 721st squadron. He is living in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY and doing well. Great website... I just looked over it with my 10 year old son and it was a great look into a portion of his grandfather's life with him that he would not have been able to see if it wasn't for the detailed work and tremendous effort you guys put into this. We are both really interested in this critical time in our history and it was nice to see it restored in such a detailed way. Thanks for your effort... With Best Regards, Buzz Brischler

All those putting together the information for the 450TH BG, did a fabulously great job. It brought back so many memories that have partially been misplaced or forgotten. The photos, buildings, and all the names of those you flew with. The only slight flaw noticed, was the rank of the flying crews I flew with. The list indicated 1 to 3 ranks lower than those that flew and/or completed their required 50 missions prior to reassignment and honorable discharge. All in all, this was a great job of recapping all this information and putting it together. I believe all responsible should receive 5 silver stars.

The winter of '45 at Souix Falls radio operators school is an experience I'll never forget. I went on to Madison Wis. and Chanute Field, Ill. for advanced radio training and finaly was sent overseas to Chitose Air Base on the island of Hokkaido in oct.'45 where airsea rescue B-17's where stationed. It was an exciting and sometimes scarry experience for a 19 year old but I look back on it with a bit of nostalgia.

Thank you for posting these pictures and reports about my uncle, 2nd Lt. William P. Cannon. My father, Joe R. Cannon was a marine in the south Pacific when he was notified of his only sibling's death. The offer was made for my father to return stateside-which he refused. He never knew many details of his brother's death, but it is nice that his family can learn the details. Thank you

I am tdy in Romania for 5 months. A Romanian friend has approached me with a picture of 4 pow bomber crew taken in Romania (sitting with girls) and a silk map carried by one of them. These is from a Romanian who lived in Ploiesti during the 1944 raids. He said the picture was from Aug-Sep 1944. I don't know if these men are from the 450BG or maybe 376TH OR 455. I recommended that he post the picture on the net and see what happens. If there is a way to do this on your site, let me know. Thanks. Gene Williams

This is a wonderful site. I would love to know who provided the picture of my father, William Stelte, pilot. Also wondering what happened to his airplane -"Set'Em Up"? Are they still around?
