A 2024 Trip Back in Time. - By Terry Vernon

We flew from Milan to Brindisi, where the G7 is being held.
Then a van to Manduria for a weekend visit.
Home of the 450th Bomb Group of the 15th Air Force.
Home of my Dad in WWII.

Saturday, we arrived and went to our hotel which is an old castle that half has been restored to the Hotel Palazzo Donna Elisabetta.
It is named after the owner.  Elisabetta and Palo took us to their favorite place for lunch.  We went back on Sunday night also.

We met my friends, the Morleo's, in late afternoon and walked around the town, and then had dinner with them.
Again, having a meal is an event.  In the evening meal, Nella even got a birthday muffin with candle.   Oh my, so much great food.

Anna Rita was the police chief of Manduria for many years.  And now is police chief for a small neighboring town.
To say at the least, she is why the 450th is and has been remembered here.
She checks on the monument for the 450th at the gate of the old base, and also got Cottontails Park established.
Nearly all of the museum pictures are from servicemen, or their children, and she had a hand in so much of making the museum happen.

So I'll do the rest of this with pictures.
