I was born 19 June 1921 in Austin Minnesota. I was Married on 20 February 1943 and reported for active duty 26 February 1943.
I graduated from Moody AAF on 12 March 1944. Our crew arrived in the 720th Squadron September 1944.
The crew finished 35 sorties and departed for the ZI in April 1945. Awarded the distinguish Flying Cross. I remained in the air force until 31 August 1964.
During the Air Force career I flew B-29s and B-47s for Strategic Air Command, with other assignments in Air Training Command, and ADC.
I served as Wing training, Division operation, chief war plans section at SAC Hgtrs and commander AFROTC.
While in the AF, I completed a BBA from University of Minnesota and a MS from the University of Colorado.
I retired as a Lt/Col in 1967 and took a position of Dean of a college business school until 1987.
In 1975 I also established the college's flight training school and also chaired the department from 1975 until 1981 when in 1987 I retired again.
I lost my wife of 58 years in 2001. In 2004, I was designated a Wright Brothers Master Pilot by the FAA as an active pilot contributing to aviation for 61 years.
I have lived in Eugene Oregon since 1964.
