The painting of the young lady in the black gown on the aircraft is Leslie Brooks a movie starlet at the time, 1943.
The mother of the pilot, Harmond Dessler, worked for Senator Bankhead of Alabama and he met Leslie through his friend, the Senator's daughter,
Tallulah Bankhead, when the crew were stationed at Muroc Army Air Field CA (Edwards Air Force Base).
